Polycom RMX 2000 and Avaya Session Manager - Port Usage

Hi!

We have recently integrated one of our Polycom RMX 2000 (v7.2.1) bridges with our Avaya Session Manager (v6.1) .

We are only using voice-only Avaya phones, however when any incoming call is made to the RMX, the call is using video ports as opposed to audio.

Please note, that the RMX is also integrated with OCS 2007 R2 for voice/video calls so the MS_ENVIRONMENT flag is set to YES.

Do I need to add any special flags/IVR/Conference Profiles to force the Avaya calls to use audio ports only?

Any feedback will be most apperciated! :)

There is a flag on the RMX that we occasionally use to resolve issues like this. It is:

PREFERRED_G711_MODE

And the value is

YES

That flag will cause the RMX to use voice ports for audio-only SIP participants.

Re: Polycom RMX 2000 and Avaya Session Manager - Port Usage

Hi,

Any chance this flag no-longer works in version 7.6?

I have completed the system upgrade and all SIP calls get routed through the video port again.

Thanks

Re: Polycom RMX 2000 and Avaya Session Manager - Port Usage

Hi,

Also have the same problem with a 7.6 release.
In my case the RMX is H.323 trunked back to an Avaya CM.
So the phones are hitting the RMX using H.323 sig.

Any ideas?
Is this a known issue

Thanks
