Voyager 4320 EXTREMELY LOW MIC

I have checked all the Windows Mic Settings, re-installed the drivers, and Lens, yet with my mic less than 2 inches from my mouth it doesn't go past 9% when speaking at a normal volume with the Windows Microphone test.  Yet somehow my **bleep**ing webcam mic from 2005 can pick me up to 80% from 1.5 feet away.  Anyone have any suggestions, or is this just a bunk **bleep**ing headset?
