My PLT_M20 earpiece is about 5 years old. It has always rung when the phone rings and stays at the pre set volume. This morning, for no apparent reason, its behaviour has changed. It now rings very quietly and says the name of the person calling. When you answer, no matter how many times you set the earpiece volume to maximum, it defaults back to minimum. This is all really annoying! Any idea how to get it back to how it was, or do you know how it has 'changed'?

Thanks

Simon

Hello @sddsddean,

Welcome to Poly Community.

The M20 is an end of life product and basis the age of your headset it appears to be a hardware failure (speaker perhaps has some loose wiring or just failing is my guess). The only basic thing to do are following:

- make a fresh manual pairing (subsequent pairing) between your headset and smartphone and test outcome

- if you have a 2nd phone then pair the headset with it and test to see if it behaves same? if yes, then time to buy new headset.

If you still wish to pursue it then there are no additional steps to try except phone settings may be and you can contact your phone manufacturer for tips/troubleshooting help.Beyond this there are no other things I can recommend.

Troubleshooting or providing support via the community is outside the scope for myself as a Poly employee.

Thanks for that. I thought that might be the case. I tried re-setting it, but no joy, so I guess its time to buy a new one!

Thanks again
