Backbeat Fit 3150 primary earbud taps aren't recognized; secondary earbud taps are ... how do I get the primary earbud to respond to taps?

My 3150 earbuds were working fine on my Pixel 3.  I just paired them with a new Pixel 6, and now the primary earbud does not respond to any touches or presses except for power up/down.  I really need the earbud to play/pause like it's supposed to, and like it used to on the Pixel 3.  Where do I start?

The Pixel 6 is running Android 12.  The BackBeat app is version 2.1.1.

Hello @patrickhenrypdx ,

Welcome to the Poly Community.

If this used to work (and we assume still does) with the older Pixel I would suggest you contact Google as the only change in this chain of devices was the mobile and potentially the Android OS.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

Steffen Baier, the BackBeat app was last updated on Mar 30, 2020.  The problem likes with the failure of Plantronics/Poly to keep the app current.  Plantronics is still selling these earbuds and yet still points their customers to a two-year out-of-date app.  The company wants the sales while seeking to avoid the obligation to support those sales.  I loved these earbuds but Plantronics won't be the company that sells me their replacements.  Won't Get Fooled Again.

Hello @patrickhenrypdx ,

The age of an app should have nothing to do with a company looking after a product. Everything should be fine if there are no new features or fixes and the app runs on Android.

In addition, you may mistake us, volunteers, in this community answering other people's questions with my daytime employers, support organization.

If you have an issue with a product please raise a case. Details about all of this are in my signature.
Best Regards

Steffen Baier
